More than 70% of marine litter is deposited on the seabed. We are an association active on multiple fronts in protecting the marine environment and its ecosystems. We are convinced that the more serious the problem, the more it must be addressed in depth, which is why we mainly deal with what happens on the seabed.

Our
Most Important
Projects
The project was conceptualised, first dives in Liguria and Sicily. The scientific community and local divers were involved.
The Association was born, first deep waste monitoring and removal activities were conducted in Liguria and Sicily, as well as the first technical sponsorships and collaborations with media partners.
Missions with ROVs, seabed cleaning in port, microplastic sampling, web series, and network consolidation.
Microplastics sampling campaign with La Sapienza, explorations with ROV at -600m, closure of film production.
Distribution of film, acquisition and management of own means and technologies to provide direct support to the scientific community.
In 2025, Abyss Cleanup continued to champion marine conservation through ghost net retrieval, scientific research, environmental education, and the expansion of its operational and technological capabilities.
Launch of flagship of the Abyss Cleanup fleet, the first oceanographic expedition in Italy.
